About Privacy Ranker
Privacy Ranker publishes independent rankings and comparisons of privacy tools: VPNs, password managers, encrypted email services, and secure messengers.
Most privacy review sites have a conflict of interest problem. Rankings are sold, not earned. Products that pay for higher affiliate tiers get better placements regardless of quality. We built this site because the current landscape makes it genuinely difficult to find trustworthy evaluations.
Our scoring is based on audits, technical testing, ownership research, and jurisdictional analysis — not affiliate commissions. We use affiliate links and disclose them, but we pay the same commission rate for every recommended provider, so there’s no financial reason to rank one higher than another.
Bylines are intentionally pseudonymous. The editorial focus is the analysis, not the author.
